Central Park Bike Rental: Prices and Booking
Prices start at $25. In the booking form you choose the duration, Three hours (+$25) or Full day (+$35), and enter the number of people, children included.
After booking you receive an automatic confirmation and, within 24 hours, the electronic ticket. The voucher has no date or time: with a flexible date you pick the ideal day on the spot, without worrying about the weather. If you don’t use it, the ticket is refundable.
Book Smartly
The booking and the electronic ticket are handled by Il Mio Viaggio a New York, with an office at 324 W 47th St near Times Square and customer support in English during business hours. At the starting point, the rental staff hand you the bike and offer advice on specific routes, must-see attractions and park restaurants.
If you arrive when the bikes are unavailable, you’ll need to choose a different time: to avoid this, you can book a specific time slot in advance.

What to See in Central Park by Bike
The main route is the Loop, the roughly 10 km (6 mile) ring along the park’s inner perimeter, from 59th to 110th Street. It is now car-free and can only be ridden counterclockwise, with breathtaking views and must-see sights along the way.
Along the ride, or continuing on foot, you reach the park’s best-known attractions: Conservatory Water, Wollman Rink, Imagine Mosaic, Conservatory Garden, Central Park Reservoir, Bow Bridge, Central Park Carousel, Belvedere Castle and Central Park Zoo.
Our tip
To reach attractions away from the drives, park your bike or walk it: on pedestrian paths, riding is only allowed on the marked shared sections.
After your ride, book your rental again for another day or explore the rest of the city on foot: Central Park is the perfect place to spend a few hours in NYC.
Three Hours or Full Day: Which to Choose
Choose Three hours if you want a ride around the park with a few stops, or the Full day if you prefer to mix riding, walks and lunch at one of the park restaurants. In both cases rentals run from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with hours that vary by season.
To discover the neighborhoods around the park and the rest of Manhattan, you can pair the rental with our New York tours.
What to Know Before Booking
The park rules apply to all cyclists, including those on a rental bike:
- Park hours: open from 6:00 AM to 1:00 AM.
- Direction: on the drives that circle the park, ride counterclockwise only.
- Where to ride: on the drives; bikes are not allowed on lawns or pedestrian paths, except the marked shared paths at 96th Street and from West 106th to West 108th Street.
- Pedestrians: always have the right of way, including at crosswalks.
- Speed: the limit is 20 mph.
- Helmet: required under age 14 and recommended for everyone.
- Holidays: on holidays and depending on the season, rental hours may vary.
- Liability: the company disclaims responsibility for damage or loss during the visit.
How the Lanes on the Drives Work
In spring 2025 the New York City Department of Transportation began repaving and re-striping the drives, now car-free, with new lanes and markings; the northern sections of the park are still to be redesigned. Where the new markings are in place, the inner lane is for pedestrians and joggers, the middle lane for slower cyclists and the outer lane for faster users, such as faster cyclists and e-bike riders.
Near crossings you’ll find "LOOK" markings and blinking yellow lights that signal a pedestrian crosswalk ahead: slow down and stop if a pedestrian is crossing or about to cross. On weekends and in nice weather the drives get more crowded, so ride at an easy pace.
Important
After booking you receive an automatic confirmation and, within 24 hours, the electronic ticket. Rental hours are subject to change depending on the season. The purchase constitutes acceptance of the terms and conditions.
