SF Explorer Pass Prices and How to Use It
When booking you decide how many places to visit. The base price covers 2 Attractions; moving up to 3, 4 or 5 adds $20, $40 or $55, as listed next to each option in the form. You pay one price for the whole plan, with savings of up to 50% compared with single tickets.
Everything happens online: once the automatic confirmation arrives, your electronic ticket is emailed within 24 hours, with nothing to print or pick up on site. The 30-day count starts only from the first attraction you visit, leaving room to plan the following days calmly. At every attraction in the catalog you just get the phone’s QR code scanned, skipping the ticket desk.
Who It Suits
The Explorer Pass by Go City in San Francisco is the format for travelers who want to see only a few popular attractions, or for people on a business trip with only some spare hours for sightseeing. It also works for an unhurried pace or for return visits focused on favorite spots, since a month of validity suits long stays and changing plans.
Go City runs the app and decides which attractions join the catalog; Il Mio Viaggio a New York handles the sale and emails your electronic ticket once you have paid online.
What the Explorer Pass Covers
San Francisco reveals itself neighborhood by neighborhood and hill by hill, and the San Francisco Go City pass lets you shape your own route with these elements:
- Access to 2, 3, 4 or 5 attractions, based on your option, one entry per attraction.
- Free choice during your trip: attractions are not fixed at the time of purchase.
- QR-code pass to show on your phone at each entrance.
- Go City app, also in Italian, handy for opening hours, maps and booking links.
If you fancy an experience outside the pass, the site also offers our attraction tickets online in advance.
The 25 Attractions of the Go City San Francisco Explorer Pass
The catalog ranges from bay cruises and major museums to bike rentals, walking tours and family attractions. Here are a few highlights.
Cruises under the Golden Gate
The Golden Gate Bay Cruise by Red & White Fleet sails under the bridge, past the waterfront landmarks and around Alcatraz while the commentary tells the city’s colorful past. The same company also runs the Bridge to Bridge Cruise. Landing on Alcatraz Island, however, is not part of the catalog.
California Academy of Sciences
An aquarium, the rainforest dome and a planetarium share the same living roof in Golden Gate Park. It is one of those places that amaze children and adults alike, so don’t miss the Philippine coral reef tank.
Cable Cars with the Muni Pass
The catalog includes the 1 Day Muni Pass, which lets you ride San Francisco’s legendary cable cars, such as the California and Powell lines.
Fisherman’s Wharf and Pier 39
At Aquarium of the Bay, on Pier 39, you walk through clear tunnels as sharks and rays glide overhead, and the sea lions lounge on the docks just outside. The SkyStar Wheel at Fisherman’s Wharf is in the catalog too, and along the waterfront you’ll find the San Francisco Flyer with its 7D experience.
Biking over the Golden Gate
With a full-day rental from Blazing Saddles you follow the waterfront path through Crissy Field, cross the Golden Gate and ride down to Sausalito, with the option of taking the ferry back. If you prefer a guided ride, pick the Scenic Golden Gate Bridge Bike Tour.
The table covers all 25 attractions of the SF Explorer Pass, with any reservation requirement and the most a separate ticket would cost.

Our tip
Group attractions by area and save the Muni Pass for your busiest day of getting around: Fisherman’s Wharf with Aquarium of the Bay and a cruise, Golden Gate Park with the California Academy of Sciences and the de Young Museum.
For a guided look at the city, our San Francisco tours pair well with the attractions on the pass.
Explorer or All Inclusive in San Francisco: Which Suits You
The Explorer works by number of attractions: you pick 2 to 5 and use them over a 30-day window. The Go City Pass San Francisco All-Inclusive works by days instead: each active day gives unlimited visits to the included attractions, and on our product page it costs from $104 with 1 day, while a child aged 3 to 12 starts at $84. The first rewards a short list of places, the second suits packed days.
